    Default middleton?

    trying to find info on this maker and another one. ill make a separate post for each manufacturer. ive seen a couple examples of razors from both makers and cant dig up concrete info. any would be much appreciated.

    The crown with V/R was used by Joseph Rodgers& sons. Strazors.com

    All I have found so far
    Middleton Samuel Smith and Co. cutlery, and razor strop, &c. manufacturers, 52 Eyre street ; 11 Button hill From Whites Directory of Sheffield 1852

    Whites directory 1857 Middleton Saml. S. & Co., cutlery mfrs.,
    161 Arundel st

    Middleton John, jun. merchant, 4 Union st
    from 1837 directory. john middleton also made bowie knives around the same period if im not mistaken. not sure what the "jun. merchant" means????

    That mark simply reflects that Victoria was queen (Victoria Regina) when the razor was made. It has nothing to do with the maker

    The blade was made by William Middleton, the son of also W. Middleton, who was listed after 1825, as a merchant, factor, and table knife manufacturer in George Street.
    By 1937, William joined the father's business. William was a merchant in Union Street, with a residence in Bloomhall Place. By 1839, father and son had formed Middleton, Newton & Middleton, which had a New York office in Maiden Lane. On 14 August 1841 William Middleton Sen. died at Stand House, aged 51. In the following year, the partnership was dissolved and, most likely, the previous name was returned - Middleton.
    (Victoria Regina) when the razor was made. It has nothing to do with the maker
