Thanked: 3164Could well be John Pitt whose sons formed Pitts Bros, Sheffield. The father, John Pitts (he had two sons, another John and a Charles) worked in Simms Croft, Sheffield, in 1828, then Trafalgar Street, then the sons joined the firm. In 1852 son Charles was working in Milton Street and John senior in Chester Street, but he died the next year - 1859, so that would date the razor from 1828 - 1859 providing that:
(a) It is Pitts and not Ritt, and
(b) The apostrophe is not before the 's'
He was conveyed some land in 1853:

Thanked: 3Neil, thank you so much for all the information! Come to find out you were correct about both razors. I cleaned them up a bit around the engraving and found out it is C. Freidr.Ern not G. And John Pitt's. With the grime they had on them it was hard to read but its clear as day now! thanks again
