Really, I´m not used with the Europe prices, 30 euros is quite expensive here, for me is a real question, not a joke. Thanks

Right, the people on the tang were probably not the makers - it was most likely a Sheffield blade, even though the company incorporated R. S. Richardson & Co, cutlers. See below for my reasons why this should be so.

The firm was originally known as Adie & Wedderburn, opticians. In 1913 they became Richardson, Adie & Co and the last listing was in 1933 (although the company was reputedly dissolved as late as 1945) so the razor dates between 1913 and 1933, at which point the company were scientific instrument makers, watchmakers, silversmiths, etc, along with a side line in mens toiletries and surgical instruments, as well as opticians.

    Below: an advert dated 1922:

The circular mark on the blade - 'Special Steel' refers to Robert Mushets Special self-hardening steel, developed in 1868 and otherwise known as RMS. Samuel Osborn, another british razor maker of note bought the sole rights to RMS sometime after 1870. Osborn died in 1891 but the company continued, a major South African plant was bought, and RMS was sold all over the world - it was probably one of Sheffield's best selling special alloy steels.

So - a noted cutlery firm, ivory scales, special steel - a bargain if you ask me!

    Regards,
    Neil

Thanks Neil, here is too usefull that diferent houses mark his names in the tang of buyed razors, you can see a "Del Tio Cansado" in a Solinguen razor, sometimes is dificult find the real maker.... About the price here is quite dificult sell a razor, the normal price of a vintage or antique razor, not including Filarmonica, Palmera o Montserrat, local makers sometimes, is into 5 to 20 euros, actually the prices rise a bit but you only must to find. Pay 30 euros for only a razor, is too many and my economy is not quite brillant, so I made that question, and thanks for the answer.

Thanks Neil , you are why srp is top notch. Ever think about writing a history of straights book? I'd buy one.

30 euros is about 24.42 pounds and 41.07 us dollars

Roberto I think you are the owner of a item that will hold its value at the very least.
Don't stress over a bit of buyers remorse, we all have purchased straights over budget.
Well I have anyway. You have a gem, if you gift it to a friend, even better.
It's good karma. Good for you!
