    Default George Washington's straight Razor

I remember seeing it when I went to Valley Forge when I was a kid. Anybody live in Philly or going to Valley Forge that can get a decent pic of it? This is the only one I could find on the web.

The No. 6 is still made and you can still buy it. I'd love to get some one of these days. I'm a big, big fan of George Washington, I think it would EXTREMELY cool to walk around smelling like George Washington. You know, you can get an idea of what he looked like from early portraits, but to be able to see (smell) what he smelled like is cool.
I love the number 6 cologne, it's my "special event" cologne. When I heard G. Washington loved it, I just had to try it.

There's a store on Ebay that sells it for a decent price. It's where I get my supply from. Would you like a link to them?

Hmm, I'm not very good at stuff like this but....

    From Caswell-Massey's website:

    Number Six Cologne

This piquant blend of bergamot and orange blossom, rosemary and 27 aromatics is the choice of the man who embodies the American spirit, the Father of Our Country, George Washington. Number Six cologne is available in a 3 oz. bottle and a 3 oz. spray (all boxed).

    Fragrance Family: Citrus.
Fragrance Note(s): Bergamot, Orange Blossom, Rosemary, Narcissus, and 27 other notes

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't know about all that. It's a warm citrus scent for sure. It's strong going on and, on me, it can last 10-12 hours or so. I will say that it takes a few applications to get used to. I find it a little too formal for daily wear but on special occasions where you might "dress up".. I enjoy it then. For daily wear at the office, I choose Tabac EDT.

I'm sorry I can't be better but I'm not cultured enough to discern individual scents when combined.

Maybe my history is way off, but I didn't think showers and baths were that popular back in those earlier times.....methinks the smells were just to tide one over between the occasional, well-needed scrubbin'.

    -but I may be wrong....

    -whatever

George Washington was the man and I don't want to paint a bad picture of him but if Lou is right (which I think he is) he probably smelled like No. 6 with a touch or hint of underlying "poop" --- I don't know if you want to recreate that one but authentic is authentic and if it was good enough for George then what the hell do I know.

I think that's about right but we could call it Revolution: For the man who has it all except for a country to call his own.
