    Default Our beloved beater

I have a razor that looks like a horror show that I love. I thought I would start a thread to show off the uglier blades we all love. Mine is a Torrey near wedge I got for under twenty. It shaves great, but looks like a burn victim.

I love my beater, it was my daily shaver for my first year of straight shaving, I posted a photo of it in the SOTD a couple of years ago entitled "Ugly Shave of the Day." Sent it out to be honed after sitting on the sidelines for awhile, after a couple of shaves the scales broke. Now I'm just looking to find some ugly scales to bring it back to it's former glory.

I had a similar idea but maybe a little more extreme.

I have that same Torrey wedge, yours is the only other one I've seen. Mine needs a set of scales though.

It's a great razor and I'm glad I grabbed it. I have a soft spot for Torreys since I live in/near Worcester.

Two Pipe razors. Stained blades and warped scales, still, just like they arrived - rode hard, put up wet.

Not really rat razors, now sharp, great shaves.

My favorite "rat razor". ( I have several ) This one is stained and bug chewed, but it shaves like new Freddy R.

Hone wise it looks almost unused. Same with the pipe razor with barbers notch.
