That was a lovely piece. I am sorry it tried to kill you. You make the point, pardon the expression, of the point not being the problem. My square point has sometimes been the problem, other times... I don't know what. So my position on muting points is, "Why bother if the razor is just plain malicious?" @sharptonn, a son of Texas, disappoints me with casual retreat.

If this thread gets enough traction we might try a mass round robin swap and see if blood flow stops, stays the same or gets worse. I have wondered if my Rapid Shave wants to hurt everyone or just me. There's probably a bit of the Stephen King in some razors - maybe all of them.

Casual retreat? HA! We call that nipping it in the bud! Seriously, I like square tips, but as some are freshly honed, the tip is bad sharp. Too sharp for use, really. As they are showing tendencies, it's 'under the windowsill' for just a couple of short strokes. You cannot even see it and it will still shave up close. Just won't bite!

    I rest my case.

I've migrated from round point to square/spike/barbers notch over the last two years, to the point that all of my regulars are in that group.
Makes working around the Mo that much easier...

But there is one, a Red Imp 133 that is a little toe worn that leaves me looking like I have been bobbin for blackberries in very short order.
It stays in the back of the drawer...

    Smooth Shaving...

I have a microtome that has a killer square edge - I'll take the loss of man-points and confess that I slightly dulled the very tip on a piece of glass.

I have the same case red imp 133 that is the only razor that habitually tries to eat my face. Didn't think about it until this post surfaced. But its truly bloodthirsty.

+2 on the red imp 133. I can go through my entire rotation blood free and get to that one and bleed like a stuck pig in multiple places. You can cut a corner off my man card but I'm gun shy with the imp.

The underside of the windowsill calleth to thee. Go hither! Swipe thy point. See ye a difference!

You shave with a Straight Razor as part of your daily routine.

Who, pray tell, would be coming near your Man Card?
