    Default What Have I Found?

Digging through a bunch of old boxed I came across this in almost new Condition. I was thrilled as I really wanted to move from safety razor shaving to a straight razor for my face and head. Then I turned it over and saw it is a microtome and the other side is flat. This microtome has never been honed. So, what do I do with it?

Send it to me is the answer!
Razor rich, but money poor. I should have diversified into Eschers!

Looks like a nice blade. In fact, it looks like it's in NOS condition. Very nice find! Here's a thread I found on these Microtomes.

I was thinking about send it out but I am not sure it is the razor to learn on and I want to switch from safety razor to straight razor. I would buy a good straight razor but in my retirement the $$$ are not there.

Microtomes can be turned into very good shavers. It's a nice looking razor. Well worth getting it honed and using it.

I don't think you need to buy a "good straight razor" ...

Because I think you have a good straight razor!

If your looking for a reputable honer - go to the classified section - services - Bob's your uncle.
