Default Wedge Refurb - Thanks ToxIk

I just got this baby back from ToxIk yesterday - he really pimped this razor up.

Its a nice 6/8 plus Joseph Rogers wedge with striped ebony scales.

In addition to being a treat to look at, the steel is great and ToxIk honed it up to a super edge.

While I have several razors with heavier grinds, this is my first true wedge. It shaves a little differently than even my 1/4 hollows. In addition to being incredibly stiff, its very heavy for its size - which means you don't need to use much pressure at all and it gets through the heavy stuff with ease.

I've posted a picture - ToxIk may post more when he gets a chance.

The best part is that I got this razor for about $10 (including shipping from England) and paid so little because it had broken scales and the vendor mistakenly suggested that it might have been chromed!

Just goes to show you that you can get good buys on e-bay.

As I've seen a bunch of Jason's restoration projects, I'm not surprised he did a superb pimp job on this one

Sweet looking razor, and the contrasting stripes in the ebony wood really flow nicely from end to end of the scales.

hi i am new in the forum but i shave my face with straight razor about 30 years, mostly with full hollow razors, recently I won in ebay a seven day Joseph Rogers set from 1875 (Henckels scale 1) After cleaning and honning I make the smoothiest shaving ever. Diferent feeling, no noise but smooth -smooth shaving. I am unhappy because I want to shave my face only with these razors and I have a lot of others!
