Default Looking for Case's Ace Scales

If I'm posting this in the wrong place, please accept my apologies. I recently got a Case's Ace from Ebay, only to find that the scales are severely warped and shortened. I've heard of this happening, but have never seen it quite this bad. Does anyone happen to have a set of original scales for that razor? Maybe a broken, chipped or rusted blade and fine scales? I thought it would be worth a try before putting some replacement Dovo blonde scales on it. Thanks in advance!

So, return the item! Open a claim on PayPal, stating that the item is not as described. Period. They will find in your favor, refund your money, and -- if the seller wants it back -- s/he'll have to pay the return shipping costs. Don't be a chump.

Or didn't you look at the photos?
You can have everything, and still not have enough.
I'd give it all up, for just a little more.

Hard to believe it, but the pics didn't reveal any obvious defects. The blade looks NOS or at the very least in excellent condition. If you're familiar with these, they have blued tangs, and normally the bluing is at least partially worn off. This one looks like a blued Colt Python, to use gun terminology. I don't mind rescaling it, and I got the razor reasonably cheap. Of course I would have preferred to have known about the warped scales prior to the purchase. I intend to contact the seller and mention that to him, as he described it by saying "This is a nice Case Ace". A razor with scales so warped that it won't close completely isn't what many people would call "nice". Regardless, I thought it would be worth a try to get an original set of scales before going the cheap route.
    Thanks for your reply

Yes, it is in the wrong place. If you're not sure, you can always PM a mod or admin. The correct way to approach this, if you don't want to return the razor, is to post an ad in the classifieds WTB (want to buy) Posting for sale items requires a post count greater than your current numbers. There is no such requirement for a WTB.

Alternatively watch the bay for a Red Imp with a blade that is badly worn or damaged, but with decent scales. A longshot, but it has been done. Of course, if you go that route, stay away from blades that have corrosion that could be the result of cell rot. Also if the seller's photos don't reveal something that you have a question about ask before you bid.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Yes, but Jimmy! Red imp scales won't work on a Case's Ace!
Case's Ace and Case Red Imp scales are notorious for issues. Bad ones. Best the OP has it rescaled! JMO
