Default boker razor and first post

Hey guy's I made the upgrade from a modern razor to a safety razor about a year ago, but last week my grand dad gave me a razor used by my great Grandad. All he knew was that it was a broker. I've looked around at some post but I can't find any info on it. Anyone know what kind of quality this thing is in? I would love to start using it. It says 1900 on the blade but I have yet to find another one like it. It could be a knock off for all I know.

Very nice setup! What a gift!
I'd send that to someone to hone (check out the classifieds) and put her to use

X2 on getting it professionally honed. I have about 6 Boker razors and all shave well.

Sure hope it works better after getting honed. I just experienced about the most painful seconds of my life when I tried it.

Nice blade !!....Match the tree to the one on your razor and you will have an idea of age.

You my friend have been given a Very Precious Gift! Not only are Boker razors Great Shavers you have something that many others wish they had and that is an 'Heirloom'!!

Get that razor honed and enjoy the shave. I'd love to hone it for you! However if you'd like a recommendation to a Pro that I highly recommend just PM me.

Please give your granddad a Huge Hug and a Sincere Thanks not only from you but from Me!!!

That is no knock off, Boker is one of the finest makers of knives and razors and have been for hundreds of years. +1 on getting honed by a pro first.
