Amazing razor find!
Well, the razor itself isn't a rare find, but I had an amazing thing happen today.
I went to Marietta today and stopped by an antique store. I saw an Imperial Improved Eagle razor with black handle for $6. It had never been used, although it was tarnished all over, but no rust. The pin was tight. I was fairly happy with it.
Well, I got back to work and was telling one of the other reporters about it. I described what it was and he said "let me see it."
I went out to the car and brought it in. He looked it over and said "that is my grandpa's razor."
His grandpa had bought it years ago and never used it. It sat in a drawer for decades. My friend was moving about a year ago and had a moving sale, the razor was part of it. He had a dollar on it. He remembered the guy who bought it well, because he kept trying to talk him down from a dollar and my friend said "for something that's worthless, you're sure spending a lot of time arguing about it." Well the guy paid a buck for it and left. He had it marked for ten bucks in the store, but they had some kind of sale going on and I got it for six.
I'm honing it now and I'm going to shave with it in the morning. I'm glad after all its went through, the razor has found a good home.Last edited by Fischjaeger; 03-22-2007 at 11:05 PM.
