Thanked: 1Debating
I am debating if to get this straight edge razor. To be honest I got one but the blades are disposable (it is pain the rear to get them cut in half and fitted). I really loved the scaled! I am wondering if anyone can give me some input, I also need to learn how to strop the blade as well (seen some videos and it seems like straight forward)

Thanked: 1184In case you didn't notice it is a Thiers Issard razor. Nice razor I might add ! For that price you could get a nice razor and a nice strop. You may have to re hone the razor and you will probably nick the strop. Unless you are very very careful while learning both.
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

The DE shavette's are pretty average I reckon. Have a look in the classifieds and pick yourself up a good starter razor. You don't need to spend a fortune.

but the guy's here are right as well, you can get quality razors for a lot less money, it's up to you
what do you mean by this? I started out with a shavette and looking back at it I wonder why I tolerated that thing for so long I'll never use that thing again, I'd rather use my pocket knive :P
