I see that all of their razors are 1/4 hollow. I am looking for my first SE, and the recommendation from Lynn I believe is a 6/8 full hollow. Any thoughts on whether these look like good first razors? Is the hollow a big deal?

Comes with a very heavy duty cardboard box designed to hold the razor.

I would go with Lynns recommendation if I were you. The full hollow is good for a beginner.
You can always follow up with a portlandrazorco blade for your second razor.

Just bookmarked the site and emailed to my wife. She is always wanting to know what I want for Christmas. I think ivory and the black scales look the best.

Thanks lz6. I'll do that. Perhaps these nice looking razors will be for when I've settled in.

    Hey Redcane,
Just wanted to add that we also include a padded wool slip case for the razor, and it all fits in the cardboard box.

    Hi Smyth,
Hard to go wrong with a 6/8 full hollow for a first straight. The 1/4 hollow certainly has a different feel to it, slightly stiffer and slightly heavier feeling blade. This is a feel that I've come to prefer, but certainly it is just that, a matter of preference.

In any case, welcome to straight shaving. I hope you stick with it and have a fun time with it!

I like the fact a new American made razor is out there & affordable at that. I like the looks of them even though the heel is a bit different but still a beautiful piece of work. The Kraken would be a choice I would like. I really love the look of the spalted maple scales I saw on the website, very good looking razor!
    Great work Scott
