Default Znvingberg With Crack On Blade

It is entirely my fault that this happened -- I believe my Znvingberg razor may have been dropped, and the blade cracked. Hopefully this photo shows the crack properly. Is the blade repairable? If so, who can make the repair?

Here is the inscription on the other side of the blade.

Any advice about using this blade? Would it still be good with a honing? I am a first time shaver with this, I've only once tried to shave a part of my face with it. And that was a few years ago. I've been using double edge razors such as old Gillettes off and on.

I would like to do straight razor shaving.

    Thanks a lot!

I had a razor with a crack and it shaved fine. Not always the case. Only solution I can come up with is shorten the blade.

The bad news is that I don't think the crack is repairable, too big to hone out. The good news is that the blade can be shortened to eliminate the portion that has the crack. Up to you if you want to do that. It is a pity as that looks like a nice blade.

I suppose step one it to try to use it (and see if I needed plastic surgery after) and strop and hone it a few times (if it's gonna crap out, it will probably be while honing or stropping). If check=fail, I'd be torn whether to shorten it and try to use it as a really, really stubby blade, or simply retire it to display purposes only, probably the latter.

Woof... Well now you have a good start on a French point. I sure as heck would not attempt to shave with that because it will catch hair and yank.
