    Default Dovo Facharbeit

Hello, i have recently purchased 2 straight razors, one of them is the Dovo Facharbeit and I've had a hard time finding much of anything on it. I was wondering if ou guys might be able to tell me a little bit mroe about what exactly I have.
That being said they are my first straight razors and Ilook forward to shaving with them once I get them to shave ready condition. (the other razor is not with me or id include pictures and info about it as well, so that will be another post once i have it ready).

    Nice blade!!

I would probably unpin the razor and clean the pin area and the blade with a metal polishing cream (carefull not to touch the blade etching). Then put I would put it back together and send it to a reputable honemeister to make it shave ready!

That razor is in nice condition and from a reputable maker. There is info here on the Dovo company STRAZORS.com - all about classic razors - DOVO, Fritz Bracht, Solingen, Germany. . If you can match up the Dovo company stamp with an example of one in the link you nay be able to get an approximate time frame when it was made. If you have not already looked it up "Facharbeit" translated to "Professional Work". Enjoy your new razor.

Wow, thanks for the replies & info... pretty cool to see its at least 61 years old, the only other i've been able to find is here on this site but may be counterfeit http://straightrazorpalace.com/show-...ial-razor.html does that (mine saying made in GERMANY) make this rare or valuable? I understand it ultimately is worth what someone would be willing to pay for it, I only paid less than 10$ for it @ a thrift shop..... what would you guys put this at ... ballpark $$$? from what ive researched im guessing between $100~$300+.... thoughts, opinions?
( I am not selling it, it's taken me a long time to find one i can afford and i like that its vintage)
