Thanked: 0Info on my razor
You guys probably get this all the time from new members. I was given a straight razor as a gift, it was bought from an antique shop, I cleaned it up and was wondering if someone could offer me some help in dating it or any other information. I searched around for a bit but can't find exactly what I'm looking for. The stamp says William Bladwort and underneath it says Sheffield, but it looks like something is a little off with the stamp. The s in Sheffiield is smaller than the other letters and the E and the the L look like they weren't fully stamped. I originally posted this in the general discussion forum but was told to repost here. So far, members have mentioned that it's pre 1891 and it has a unique upside down stamp. Any other insight would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!

Hopefully one of our very well informed members will chime in about William Bladwort and his Sheffield connection. I do not think there is anything unusual about how the Sheffield
stamp took to the steel.Bob

is the rareity for the tang stamp to be upside down to the etching like a factory bugger up ??
and if so would this make it more valuable due to rareity like a misprinted coin etc??Saved,
