Default New razor just arrived - Solingen 6/8.

Thanks again to Lynn and everyone at SRD. Just got this in the mail today, along with a new premium IV leather strop upgrade.

She is a thing of beauty. You will love the way an Aust shaves. Good luck.

Just took it for it's first run - very nice! I like the larger blade. The extra weight makes it easier to just let the blade itself apply pressure vs wanting to apply any yourself.

That blade is quick, it can run the 440 in under a minute Good looking razor you have there. I'm sure that Lynn gave you all of the pertinent information you need about stropping and your first, second and third shave etc. ad infinitum. Have fun and enjoy.

Maybe that is what I need -- a 6/8 instead of my 5/8. I will work with my Oxford 5/8 till I can shave successfully. Maybe I'll send my Zvingberg to Lynn to find out if he can do something about that crack in the blade. It looks like a little more than half an inch of blade might have to be cut off it.

Not much to do with a cracked blade but to re-purpose it some how, depending on where the crack is and how bad.
