    Default Suggestions for a good 4/8?

    So my addiction is taking full hold now... thoughts on a good 4/8? I started with the 5/8, went to a 6/8 (like them both), but now I'm curious to try a 4/8. I looked on straight razor designs but didn't see any 4/8's offered. Looking for sub-$200 as something to try out.

    I should add that I'm looking for truly shave ready, as I don't have honing equipment.

    I have 2 4/8 a dblduck bresduck and an eicker and sone. both are good razors, I like the heavy wade and butchers. I find the smaller they are the less control I have.

    A 4/8s isn't much different than a 5/8s really. Basically lighter. Unless you have really big hands you would probably find a 4/8s more maneuverable and precision like. If you have big hands then it could get lost and be hard to control. I have a few 4/8s and like them quite a bit.

    For some reason or another, while everyone else was going bigger and bigger, I fell for the 4\8's. I use only 4/8 now and have a small collection that I cycle through.

    For some reason, my W&B is by far the smoothest and my Fili the keenest. I am absolutely in love with my
    Heljestrand, but I find it more challenging to hone than some.

    The Dovo is a nice blade and I have sanctioned it as my test razor for anything new I try. You can't go wrong - its very forgiving.

    I don't have a Puma... But now that I know there are some for sale lol!

    All said and done, I really like just about all my 4/8's. Were I to recommend anything, I would recommend you get one that you think is cool - shave ready or not. You can have it easily honed for a nominal amount.

    There's a whole bunch of 4/8 razors on revisors site.

    There are some real nice razors there like this one.

    FYI - that Wiener Schaber is not only a 4\8, its a shorty too! I like mine.

    The Puma is a great deal! They can be hard to find.

    I have purchased a few razors from the vendor - I trust em.

    I would just like to add revisors payment system to the thread.

    If your outside the EU, you get a 19% tax reduction, and then shipping to the USA is 10€.

    If you pay with paypal you add 5% to the price to cover paypals fees.

    It means the razors I posted are priced like this.

    Wiener = $90. If you use paypal it becomes $95
    Puma = $157. paypal = $164
    Klaas = $204. paypal = $213

    All prices include shipping.
