Default Pins used by Dovo, TI and others

Does anybody know when these "nail head" type pins first went into common use?

No, I don't care for them either. In another thread it was brought up that they now appear on vintage razors and I have seen this too. I was always suspect of these razors as I thought that at the time they would have been originally made these "nail; head" pins would not have been in use. Say, the 1960s-70s. Just want to know for sure.
