    Default Timor anyone?

I was wondering if anyone has had any good experiences with one of these? I was thinking of treating myself to something new and for whatever reason I just like the blued look of this thing. Purely cosmetic, I know but man...the thing just looks cool to me.

    Thanks in advance,
    -Pary

I want to try one also.
I hear good things about them, they are made by Giesen&Forstoff (sp) in Solingen, and I know they used to get pretty good reviews here...

My recommendation would be to get an entry level TI or a nice Dovo 6/8 in either the Best Quality with either the black handle or imitation tortoise.

    Have fun,

    Lynn,
Just curious, any reason to avoid the Timors? I'm actually sitting the fence on getting one myself, have there been problems with them? Last I remembered they were supposedly decent, but haven't kept up with them until I saw one in a shop a month or so ago...

They tend to be finicky to hone.

I liked the Timor that I had (sold it as it was little too narrow in blade width for me). I got it to hone up well, despite my honing challenges.

So would this make them a good practice razor for someone who's past the ebay junker phase?

Nope, You'd do better with an ebay razor.

I have a timor blue-steel and it is my favorite shaver. In fact it is the one that xChris sold to me If I need a comfortable bbs shave it is my go-razor. YMMV, but I love mine....
