I've knapped a few points out of that stuff. Used to mess with my point hunter buddy's head with 'em as nobody has ever found an obsidian point in our area that I know of. (except me
)
The edge on that stuff is beyond evil. It is just wicked. It's not a strong edge either, I've had to dig a lot of black glass out of my fingers messing with that junk.

Well....
...some shave with obsidian,
some brush their teeth with little twigs,
and some may choose to wipe their posterior afterwards with thistle.
If it's o.k. with you I just sit back and watch from here on.
Unless there is an overriding need, I'd rather stick with more comfortable tools.
