Should I buy this Dovo kit?
It is a kit with two Dovo no. 105, a strop, a bowl, brush, and some paste. They are brand new and the guy wants 300. I'm planning to buy but what do more knowledgable people think?

Razor rich, but money poor. I should have diversified into Eschers!

aa1192,
Your question is borderline valuation of this package and here valuation is not allowed. Before you purchase this set, however, consider some important element:
The overall shape of the razors; their shave readiness; the type of brush; the type of soap; the width and quality of the strop; and so on.

Thanked: 60Dovo is a good brand, so I'm sure the kit is of good quality. Just comes down to what your preferences are.

I can see what you mean about it being borderline. I just wanted to know what other people would do in my situation; buy or pass. I find it a good deal and if everything looks legit/newish I'm gonna buy it. I wish I could find this kit for sale somewhere and do a little homework; perhaps it is too old and no longer sold in this fashion.

Dovos will shave well. Two brand-new. Dovo prima rindleder strops are great. It's brush, Some styptic. A stainless bowl. One would have to have the razors in-hand to evaluate, JMO
Beat him down! Does not seem anything but retail. PM me or someone about pricing. They frown on that!"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

Do you need a travel set, which is sort of what this is set up as? If not do you want and or need all of the components? If you don't need all, are the bits you actually want going to cost you less to buy separately? can you sell the excess to cover the difference?
I am not commenting on this set per say, more how I would rationalize whether or not I purchased it.Bread and water can so easily become tea and toast

My thoughts are buy it and sell off anything I don't want. What probably will happen is I'll get greedy and keep it all. I think I'm certain to purchase if the price is right and everything checks out. The guy is gonna think I'm so weird when I pull out a loupe to examine the blades ::rofl::

I cannot recommend buying anything shave-related with selling in mind. Does not work well!
It's just that the money should be right in the razors and the strop. The rest is just icing!"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.
