Thanked: 2DOVO- rounded point made crooked
I just bought a Dovo faux tortoise rounded point razor on ebay. I understand it is not dove most premium razor but the rounded point was not made perfectly it seems that the way they made the razor they made one side shorter than the other the make the full hollow ground. if there is a way to post pictures please let me know this way it will be more obvious to what I am trying to explain. I want to know this way i can get a refund. Other than that I like it a lot.

G'day mate welcome to SRP
There is a square add pic symbol in the tool bar when you reply to a thread for me it is the third one from the right with a pic of a tree on it
Then follow the promptsSaved,

Have you contacted the seller? If you feel that the razor is imperfect or not as advertised you should takeit up with them first.

Before he does that I want to see pics.
You can post pics by clicking on the icon four icons from the smiley face. After you do that make sure you are in the upload from computer option unless you are uploading directly from the internet. Like substance said its the square icon with a tree (although its kinda hard to see the tree). If your computer is like mine the picture will be in the downloads file. That is if you have the picture already saved on your computer. I have a mac so it might be different if you have a PC although I don't know for sure.
Like Ed said (that rhymed) if it is not a proper made razor you should contact the seller, it doesn't matter if it is the $550 Dovo Mammut or an $80 Best Quality it should be made perfectly to standards.
Hey by the way where in Florida do you live. So far it seems that I am the only active member in the central Florida area, everyone else seems to live in southern or northern Florida.

Thanked: 2I am posting pictures now. Also check out the way the gold etching is sloppy. Thanks for the quick responses! I am in South FL.

Thanked: 3225I think I see what you are getting. To me it looks like the grind of the blade is asymmetrical and the gold etching is cock eyed for sure. But I would wait for more experienced members to comment on the blade.
Yes I like the look of that model too but if it is ground asymmetrically and the etching is off on a brand new razor I would contact the seller for a refund or a new razor with no defects.

You do need to read the sellers information about returns if it is on the ebay page and then you need to contact the seller and explain the problem. If he misrepresented the sale in anyway you will have paypal to fall back on with a complaint depending on the sellers return
policy or description of the razor.
No one here can tell you if you can if you can get a refund unless the seller is a member and recognizes that by reading this post. This is between you and the seller initially.Bob

In some of those pictures it almost looks like a microtome. So yeah the grind is definitely off. That gold wash is ugly. Which is surprising because in my experience the dovo's typically have pretty good gold wash.
All this being said, it is not common but also not unheard of, of there being dovo fakes. I believe there is a thread on here about one.

4th and 5th pics look like a kamisori. Wonky. I don't mess with newer Dovos much, but that seems bad.

I rest my case.
