Thanked: 884I think the Sacramento gent has another strike against him as the first Transcontinental Railroad wasn't completed until 1869.

Neil,
Where on earth did you find such interesting digital reproductions? Those documents are 163 years old! Maybe he had a great-grand-son or -nephew who pursued a similar mercantile occupation. Thanks for your continued effort.
PS - I was also advised in another forum to bring my question to the attention of a gentleman with whom I know you are familiar, a member known by the moniker "manah" who, from his website and Member Profile, clearly has an expert familiarity with antique and vintage straight razors. Perhaps he will respond positively to my PM.
Respectfully,
Joe

Thanked: 101My L. West Waranted Razor
Went to the local flea market & picked up an L.West 11/16" straight with a rounded end & no barber notch. The razor has yellowish scales with only one pin. The other end of the scales are glued together. There is figuring molded into the scales. You all know me & cameras, as soon as I get it back I will get a Pic. up.Dave Huffman AKA Slawman
