Thread: Spikuson? any info?

Hi Folks, I bought the following razor from ebay and can't find any info on the company:

German Made Spikuson 13/16 Straight Razor Shave Ready | eBay

I got it because I love tortoiseshell scales and I thought there may be a chance they were genuine shell, and I could clean them up nicely. I have searched for info on Spikuson and although the name comes up in various places, there is no additional info.



I did find a review on one of their razors, which wasn't great lol.

So can anyone shed any light on this for me? I will be shaving with this tonight and will give you my feedback

Can't see how it would not be a decent razor being made in Solingen but I doubt they are real tortoise scales, you never know though. I'm just guessing that because it is marked Germany it is a pre WWII razor as post war it was not used again, usually, till after 1989 and the reunification of Germany.

Yeah I've looked everywhere and can't find any info at all. It came in a box but It's so old I can't read what's on it...

I'm not too concerned if it's a good shave, it looks pretty good even though there's a lot of corrosion/pitting on the blade. Just thought someone might know something.
