Default How bad did I do.

I bought these for 40 bones. I passed up a lot.

Clauss 5/8 and a butchered J A Henckals that (for some reason lol) I thought was really cool.

The Clauss has some rust but I have seen worse. The other little guy..lol. I just bought it because it was 10 bucks.

Go for it they should come up ok
depending on the pitting depth you may have to leave some behind but no problems where it is, as it is clean on the bottom half of the blade.
but I've also definately seen & done worse clean ups by a long shot
    Saved,
    to shave another day.

Nope. I don't know how to hone but I am getting a set of hones as soon as I go on vacation to Ohio to see my folks. I am going to try and clean this up and try and hone. This away I am not out much if I screw it up. Haha...

What grit would you guys recommend starting with?

The grit you start on is generally based on how bad off the restore is in my opinion. 1000 is a good starting point though and you can move up or down from there. Do you have a closer pic of the Henckels?

Razor rich, but money poor. I should have diversified into Eschers!
