    Default Odd looking Bengall

I came across this Bengal(l) at the local antique store - did not buy it. But it looks weird since it’s only spelled with one L and on the other side it reads H.V. Jensen København (København - The capital of Denmark). Bengall as we know it from UK but this one has danish letters written on it. It seems weird. Does anyone know something about it?

Well it doesn't look that old to me(for a razor that is), I'd say some time in the early 20th century.

I can't say why the second 'L' would be missing other than that it could've been worn away or that it wasn't stamped properly.

As for the Danish stamps on the backside, I'm fairly sure that it was made for a retailer in Denmark that had his own stamp put on it as well, it was still made by T.R Cadman(Bengall), this is a practice that's seen a lot on some razors.
A lot of the Bengalls you find in Sweden are stamped with "Borlänge maskinaffär"("Borlänge machine shop/hardware store") on the backside of the tang(I have a twin pair of those, full hollows with beveled spines, they look very nice), made by Cadman(Bengall), distributed by Borlänge maskinaffär.

Bengal is spelled with 1 "L" :<0) But just looking I would say it is worn off from the scales rubbing.

There is a cat breed and a region that are called "Bengal" but the razor brand is spelled "Bengall" with two "L"s, the two spellings are not to be confused.

I know, I have the cat :<0) The observation of "worn off" is the key to my statement outside the joking around.
