My New/Old Boker
Found this one today along with another old spice mug. Why do some of these have No.1056 on the tang and others don't? One of the scales is broken, I would like to find another scale to match and put it back to the original condition. Anyone know where I could begin the hunt?

Im of no help on the scales. Someone will be of help hopefully. I am however a sucker for spine work. This one really calls out to me. Good snag!

I bet there is someone here who could fit another tip from a scrape scale onto that end,,, I saw a post recently where a member put a piece on & you couldn't tell the difference.

I was successful only once. It is hard to find a matching scale & even if you find one from the exact some kind of razor, I think the makers hand drill the holes because I had one that was off & it came off the exact same kind of razor!

Scales off, few hours sanding.
The lady told me that she was told it was very sharp, it is. Most of my time was spent controlling the bleeding from my thumb and dulling edge on a glass bottle. lol.

It is a longshot but you can put a WTB (want to buy) ad in the classifieds. You never know what people have laying around. Other than that, keep an eye on ebay. You may find a similar 1056 with a worn out blade but good scales.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Here are some, close. These are of celluloid, not bakelite as your's seem to be. The bottom is pinned collarless. The pin-holes are 119mm apart.
"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.
