I had forgotten about my Engstrom until 10Pups reminded me...haven't or hadn't used it, can't remember, since I got it over 10 months ago...could have finished after 1 pass with a DFS....very nice blade, but very, very light, I actually felt and experienced a big difference between this and pretty much every other blade I own, including the smaller French framebacks, I had to do all the work with it, no heft at all, very fine, blade.
I can totally understand now why the Swedish steel is considered so exceptional, really is remarkable, but this razor is far to out of my, "enjoy the shave" zone.

My Swedish has arrived, I want to hear your opinions about black spots on the blade. Shall I sand the black areas with Fine grit sandpaper or just clean/sterilize the blade then give it some polish and send to a pro to hone?

Yes, I cleaned the razor, applied some metal polish and coated with mineral oil. It's ready to be sent to honing.

Yesterday I shaved with my J.A. HELLBERG Eskilstuna and it was very pleasant and close shave. Although, I'm not familiar with faux frameback straights, finding the right angle and pressure was not that difficult. I've been told faux framebacks are like wedge straights. I love this Swedish so much and I will try a wedge in near future.
