    Default New "Wind-up" Shaver

    Hi

Im a product design student working out of Sweden. I'm currently working on a new type of "wind-up", fully mechanical, shaver.
To continue my work i would like to know what people think about the idea of using a "wind-up" mechanical shaver instead of an electricity powered shaver?
If you would consider using a mechanical one, when and why would you do so?

I would be grateful for any feedback, Thanks!

Great idea...it has been done though, many, many years ago.

Here are two that I've seen:

And here's another wind-up that I've seen, both are currently on eBay if you do a search for wind-up safety razors:

Those are both great! I was thinking like a modern take on the old ones, same kind of functions but new materials and form. I haven't been able to find a modern mechanical shaver on the market today

Sounds like a great idea, thought I'd just make sure you knew that it had been done, but the idea of re-engineering a new mechanical safety sounds excellent.

Would be another interesting cross between the old and the new....in your planning, what are you thinking that would make this unique, that would stand out from the current battery operated Mach 5 cartridges?

Thanks for sharing, this should be interesting!

Do you mean a wind up version of an electric (battery) shaver like rotating heads or a screen covering the moving blade?

WWII and The Russians and the Swedes had Rotary razors. Then through the 70,s they were produced and maybe still are.
