There is a strange relationship between the way the bevel looks and the way it shaves. I've seen some razors with terrible looking uneven bevels however the razor shaved like a million bucks. Very often uneven bevels are a cosmetic thing and nothing more. With many guys the evenness of the bevel is more a pride thing.I worry more about how the very edge looks.
When we talk about factory edges it reminds me about cars in the 1960s and 70s. When you bought a new car back then they would put garbage tires on the cars. Many folks would drive out of the showroom and right into a tire shop and buy decent tires. it's not that the originals didn't work because they did it's just that the performance was severely lacking. I guess the same with a factory edge on many razors. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

One other thing -- there's a difference in shaving with a shavette and a traditional straight razor. That shavette blade is simply thinner and -- yes --more fine at the edge. Given the difference, you might just need a little time for your technique and your epidermis to adapt. Try a few more times before surrendering your blade to a honist.
Don't get hung up on hanging hairs.

Thanks for all the input fellas. I will make enquiries about where the best place would be to send it if need be but persevere for the time being incase it is just down to my technique. I will also need to practice with the stropping but Im sure it will all fall into place with time, thanks again lads, much appreciated.
