Thanked: 884I have yet to find an old Sheffield that I didn't like once I got it honed right. I've got some problem children w/LOTS of unusual hone wear that may never shave right but it's fun and aggravating at the same time trying to get them running again.
That's a nice pile of history for a great price. Well done.Member Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club, participant SE Asia War Games 1972-1973. The oath I swore has no statute of limitation.

I hope you were able to act unhappy. Nothing wrong with setting the stage for next time.

Thanked: 580Nice haul, well done. Antique stores want more like $60 for 1 worn out Bengall in my neck of the woods.

Same here, trying to explain anything to these two harpies that work at this one store where straights come in fairly regularly is futile...don't even bother going there anymore...$150.00 for an old Boker with a bad frown and cracked scales...sheesh!
When I looked at one common 6/8, notched medium ground W&B, in OK shape, she decided not to sell it because she's heard you could get $400.00 or more for them, I opened my mouth about to explain, sighed and just walked away...why bother Charlie Brown.Last edited by Phrank; 10-08-2014 at 12:17 AM.
