Thanked: 1New custom from Drew in the uk
New custom from The Straight Razor uk.
Just took it for a test run, I'm absolutely thrilled with it.
Couple of gulp moments then away I went.
No problems at all. Fantastic shave, somewhere between DFS and BBS, although I'm not surprised as it was my first run with it.
Just put it next to the Dovo for a quick average pic, but will try and get some decent ones up at some stage.
The majority of my blades are large so no real handling dramas.
Wish I could shave again. Lol.
Anyhow just wanted to put it up for others to have a look at.
Huge thanks to Drew for The Straight Razor uk. Absolutely what I'd asked for and is perfectly balanced, the razor was shave ready, ran it on the strops for a few and was perfect, great job mate.
Cheers
Matt

Thanked: 1Hi guys,
Sorry should have put the details up.
It's an 11/8 wedge. The scales are horn. Mosaic collets and pewter wedge.
I got in contact with Drew after I saw some of his work which I think is fantastic.
My usual blades are 15/16 to 9/8 in different styles and from various makers, mainly vintage.
The blade is exactly as we had agreed and is perfect for my beard and shaving, as I guess any custom should be.
Totally blown away with it, look forward to using Drew in the future.
I should also mention that I gave Drew a set of objectives for the blade, but as far as the overall design he absolutely went above and beyond what I had imagined.
Really great to deal with, great communication, fast and lastly extremely accommodating.
I understand it won't be to everyone's tastes or requirements, but that's the great thing about this hobby and these places, otherwise it would be a boring old world.
Thanks again.

Thanked: 11Cheers Matt, it was a lot of fun to make this one and it always helps to get a good brief on what the customer wants. Then to have the customer turn round and say as far as the design goes to let my imagination go nuts! Very refreshing indeed.

Damn that looks huge. Only a 9/8 looks more like a 16/8
