washington works were 1847-1991. in 1892 they were required to put on the country of origin so if it doesn't say england than that helps narrow it down a little.

Thanked: 884tintin nailed it.
A picture of the whole razor might help narrow it down some. My thinking based upon the information you've supplied is 1880's to early 1900's.
The tang stamp will narrow it to either before 1892 or after.Member Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club, participant SE Asia War Games 1972-1973. The oath I swore has no statute of limitation.

Thanked: 3224It was pointed out in another thread that Wostenholm often marked their product with England prior to being required to by the McKinley Tariff Act of 1890 in the US. That info is found on another member's, Manah, site STRAZORS.com - all about classic razors - George Wostenholm & Son, Sheffield. .
Wostenholm operated the Rockingham Works and opened the Washington Works in 1884 but the IXL trademark was assigned to Wostenholm in 1831 The History of George Wostenholm - Egginton .
Seems to make dating a Wostie to within a few decades with any certainty even more difficult.
