Rust Spots on Spine and Blade
I left a couple of older straights in a bathroom drawer and the humidity caused some light rust on the spine and upper blade parts. How best can this be removed? Can I use steel wool on this, and then how do I buff it out? Thank you in advance for your suggestions!

A little bit of MAAS or Mother's Mag metal polish will clean them up.

Thanked: 4826or 0000 but the steel wool polish combo and then just polish works well on the harder rust spots, unless you left them there for a long time it should come off with just polish.

A tip I picked up a couple years ago from a fellow member but can't remember who; crumple some aluminum foil, moisten and rub over rusted area. Apparently causes a chemical reaction with the rust and is soft enough that it doesn't scratch the metal. I would follow up with polish anyway just to help shine the blade back up.
