Default Rust Spots on Spine and Blade

I left a couple of older straights in a bathroom drawer and the humidity caused some light rust on the spine and upper blade parts. How best can this be removed? Can I use steel wool on this, and then how do I buff it out? Thank you in advance for your suggestions!

A little bit of MAAS or Mother's Mag metal polish will clean them up.
000 grit steelwool is also an option.

or 0000 but the steel wool polish combo and then just polish works well on the harder rust spots, unless you left them there for a long time it should come off with just polish.

A tip I picked up a couple years ago from a fellow member but can't remember who; crumple some aluminum foil, moisten and rub over rusted area. Apparently causes a chemical reaction with the rust and is soft enough that it doesn't scratch the metal. I would follow up with polish anyway just to help shine the blade back up.

I will have to put that to use on the next razor I work on.
