Thanked: 2Recently acquired a pyramid straight
The blade is pitted but not to bad. I'm wondering what it will take to remove the pitting and polish it up. But if it's to hard I'm willing to send it out. I should be able to Provide pictures soon.

Man! It looks pretty good! Start out light, with polish. Take a pencil point to the rust spots. If still not satisfied, go with WD40 and super fine steel wool, up and down from the spine to the edge, not lengthwise. Then polish again. You might be suprised!
"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

Nice score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I like Tom's suggestion of starting out with just metal polish!:
I'm a firm believer in stating High and working lower until you get the desired results. Then go back up again, I know that it sounds Ass Backwards, but it helps preserve etchings etc.
While I'm still playing with my self constructed variable speed buffer, I've been doing the same idea.
Enjoy the work, it is really satisfying when you can look back and say, Wow, I did it and it looks nice! Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.
