Thanked: 237I can not find anything about this ERN
I've posted something similar in a different section (thought the scales might be tortoise) but I'm still trying to see if anyone has seen this razor before. It's the ERN DUOCON, which is due to the unique grind. There is very little hone wear, was probably honed once. The way the markings are stamped is also very unique. I was fortunate enough to have very little money invested. I'm hoping they are tortoise, but when I did the hot pin test, it did not smell at all really. Which is weird because if it is real I should have smelled something similar to burning hair, and if they are fake it should have smelled like chemicals...

Never seen one before but the Crown & Sword mark would suggest C.F. Ern.
The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Thanked: 3228Hard to tell from the photo but it appears to be a bellied hollow grind.

I cannot furnish any info, but that is a cool looking blade. Bet it will be a superlative shaver.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Those don't look like real tortoise. I have a couple of ERN Crown and Swords and they are great shavers. That one is great looking and I'm sure it'll be a good shaver.
On second thought. The more I look at the scales the more I'm starting to think they could be genuine tortoise.Last edited by BeJay; 10-29-2014 at 05:56 AM.

Never seen one like it. It is really unique looking. Only thing I could find was some transformers were called duocons and they were unique because they were formed from the combination of two different vehicles. Maybe since it is a bellied grind which takes two separate grinding operations is how it got its name. Other than that random, worthless information it is a mystery to me. Very nice either way. Make sure to post some pics of when you finish it. Can't wait.
