My Great-Grandfather's Razor
This was my great-grandfather's razor. My father gave it to me a couple of weeks ago. He knew nothing about it. On the side you're looking at has stamped, "Maroon & A. Michael" and on the other side has "Germany 985." Google has gotten me nowhere. Does anyone know anything about this razor/company? I'm assuming since google comes up with nothing that it's just another forgotten cutlery company.

Can't contribute to it's history but I find the scales delightful, and from the view, in good shape. Hope it hones up well and gives a good shave. Family heirlooms can be a delight.

I'm a fan of the scales too. I'm looking forward to cleaning it up. I hope it turns out to be a good shaver. I've bought a couple of razors from pawn shops/antique stores. I wanted to practice on them before I did anything to the one that has sentimental value.

The name was probably a retailer who just sold it. it was undoubtedly made in Germany by a generic maker.

I have a blade with the same scales although the blade has no markings or any signs of the maker.
I too like the scales.
