    Default Ralf Aust Has Arrived

I recently ordered a Ralf Aust 5/8 round point from SRD. It was waiting for me when I got home from work tonight and I'm very impressed. This is only my second SR purchase and I couldn't be happier. I'm dying to shave right now but will wait until tomorrow before work.

My first purchase was only a few weeks ago and today was my 14th SR shave. I haven't missed a day since it arrived. I had ordered a Gold Dollar from Amazon and was happy to have it. After comparing it to the Aust, well, there is no comparison. The fine craftsmanship is evident before you even pull the blade from the scales. The Grenadilla wood is so smooth and attractive. I have high expectations for the shave I'll experience tomorrow, and I don't think I'll be disappointed.

Just wanted to share my excitement. I'll post more after I've had a chance to put blade to beard.

Thanks Lynn for an awesome razor and fast shipping. This was going to go under the tree but I just couldn't wait.

If you go to FAQ you will find this question.
Are Gold Dollar razors any good?
We believe that Gold Dollar razors are cheap. Apparently, they can be made to shave to some degree and with significant skills, but are not in general quality razors made from high quality steel. We therefore feel that we need to mention that we do not consider them to provide good value for money.
Since SRP is a site dedicated to the art of straight razor shaving and getting the best shave possible (not about getting the cheapest shave that is still somewhat acceptable), we have decided to limit the discussion of these razors to one master thread.[5]

Aust never disappointed me and his razors have become the backbone of my rotation.

The shave this morning was great. Smoothest yet, no nicks, and very little burn when applying the alum block. I love it and am so glad I didn't wait until Christmas to experience it.

    Merry Christmas.
Excellent choice for a new razor.
Gee there's a slim chance you've got time for a Ralf Aust 6/8 or maybe even 7/8 Spanish point for under the tree???
Call it an early Christmas present for next year.

Not like a G.I.R.L. (Gentleman In Razor Limbo)
