Thanked: 9Now contender for top shaver...Burrell Top Flight
I finally got around to putting this on the stones, and WOW! What a great razor... as good or better than my C-Mon Blackie (also from Ellicotville, NY). Now enjoy some razor porn
Edit: I meant the title to read "New contender..."Last edited by funtown; 09-16-2013 at 01:00 PM.

Yes, Burrell is a good brand and I found the couple I have honed and shaved to be in the top ranks...for my face!

I absolutely love my top flight.!.!
It took me a while to locate one in good shape, and then when I got it, restored it to almost new. After honing, which went incredibly easy, it shaved fantastic!! One of the best shavers in my collection.
Glad you got yours up and running!! It's a good razor.
I even got an original Army issue box to go with mine, from another fine member here on this site!!!
Good luck!

Thanked: 9Man, that Army box is cool. It also brings the Clauss USMC to mind. I've been trying to find one for my Scout/Sniper cousin but they go for outlandish amounts on eBay.

I think I'm going to ask a mod to delete this thread, no one must know of the incredible quality of Top Flight razors. Wonderful steel, the edge can be honed wicked.

Thanked: 1Thanks for the advice!!
Based on all Posts on SRP about this razor, I recently purchased a Burrell Top Flight. I am also originally from the Ellicottville, NY area so I also bought it for sentimental reasons. Shaves Great! I normally prefer a heavier straight blade, but the Burrell has great control and feel. I am beginning to collect and this was a great addition.

Awesome! I think you'd like W.R. Case and Genco razors as well. They're a pleasure to hone and use. Also check out the thread here about CMon Ellicottville relations. Interesting read.
