    Default numax razor

    Guys,

Can this razor be fixed? This was in the lot of 4 razors I got thursday from ebay. Someone has honed into the heel. Sorry the pictures aren't the best.

If it is the heel you are talking about, you could reshape that.

    Bob,

It is the heel. Its more of an eye sore than anything. It blows my mind that people would hone into the heel.

Know what you mean, I am an expert at honing into the heel doing it frequently.

it is not that hard to fix the heel and reduce the stabilizer. Are you going to hone this? It is a decent brand. If you are wanting to hone and reshape the heel there have been a couple of good threads in the past about dealing with this issue. I have done a couple here and there. I was a little intimidated at first but it's not that big of a deal now that I've done it.

Rezdog I got a brand new silver steel Boker for Christmas so I think I am going to send the Boker and this razor to Glen. I am decent at honing (my standards) but I would rather let the pro handle this. My Boker came from my mom so it's pretty important.

Guys that do their own honing like to swap edges and get razors pro honed for benchmarks and for different reasons. I understand your point. Some day I will be at a meet or something and get Glen to do an edge for me. Sometimes it just seems like the thing to do, and if you are already paying the postage why not. Nice Christmas present from your mother.
