As I live in an old, cold, leaky Victorian house, a few hundred yards from the English Channel, I use Sentry Solutions TuffGlide for my every-day razors : this works superbly

As the other posters have said, mineral oil will be fine for every-day razors - either plain mineral oil (BP grade) or Baby Oil (I used Johnsons).

Ballistol is also good (being principally mineral oil).

For intermediate term preservation, I use TuffGlide or EEZOX.

For long term storage, I use RIG grease on top of TuffGlide or EEZOX.

Agree on Ballistol for everyday purposes. Look out for a Japanese applicator bottle - they have a wick which applies the oil and keeps your fingers well away from the sharp bits.

IKEA Skydd is pretty good. It's a high purity, food grade (meaning low toxicity) mineral oil. A bottle will last a lifetime. I suspect it may be very similar to the mineral oil BP referred to above (that's British Pharmacopoeia rather then British Petroleum - petroleum oil is definitely not food grade).

Ballistol for me too, I've got the refillable pen applicator which works very well.

Ballistol here as well. well protected and it doesn't get gummy over time.

Either Ballistol or Frog Lube. I like Frog Lube though it does smell like Vick's Vapo Rub to me.
