Thanked: 553 1/2 inch long blades
Is anybody out there a fan of the longer blades? I find that I have enough trouble trying xtg and atg with a 3 inch blade on my neck, hair grows every which way. And was really just wondering if anybody likes these longer blades or if everyone is like me and prefers them that half inch shorter? Have a Sheffield John Clarke that will probably never use due to not noticing this length difference when buying it.

Thanked: 1184If you use the heel to trim the sideburns and other moves like that it will make a difference. I have a few older blades that are long but the length doesn't seem to matter much to me.
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Thanked: 220Definitely easier with a shorter blade, but like 10Pups says, it's all in the way you use it.

Makes sense to remember, before shaving, which blade length you are using!
Ear lobes do like that suggestion!
Have fun!

I love a shorter blade. I have a goatee so it requires a shorter blade. If i use a longer blade I have to use it at more of an angle.

Thanked: 2I only have one long blade and it is the only razor that I have cut myself with. When I reach into the cabinet for a razor, I have to think long and hard before I pick that one up.

Thanked: 580Never tried one, but the Kamisori and quite a few of the western grind Japanese razors appear to have short blades, must be a reason knowing them, ease of use I would say.
