Default Old Wade & Butcher Blade

Here's an Old Wade & Butcher Blade I acquired recently & just got it. It is in really good, smooth shape. It has no rust & no pitting. It will make an excellent razor when I make some custom scales for it. It is 6/8" at the widest point. This blade should hand sand nicely! I already have several blades I need to make scales for including the Jonathan Crooks FBU blade I have. I think I'll use black horn for both! I made the white horn scales on this W & B here if you scroll down to the one with the steamship on the blade:

If any of you want some nice scale material, here are some links for the horn & for the bleached white bone I buy from an eBay seller:

Nice early W & B stub tail blade, in your link provided very nice work on the scales like how thin they are and the uses of a wedge.

Nice find. I like tapered razors like that. Should look nice once done. Don't forget to post pics once you finish it.

Very nice razor cant wait to see the end product.

Ive got quite a few razors and had more than I have now, but still never had a W&B (Nothing to do with lack of trying!!!)

One day I will own one, I hope it shaves you well.

I have quite a few W & B razors. That blade is probably the oldest W & B blade I have unless I forgot one I already own. I do that a lot, I have so many razors..............several hundred. I have over 30 Greaves razors alone! Thanks for the comment.

This was a neat one. I've only seen much older WBs lacking the royal stampings (GR, WR, VR etc), but this one is much closer in aesthetics to post-1830s-40s I'd peg.

Thanks ScienceGuy. It was on the bay & i had to have it. It ended up going for less than I thought it would. Some end up going for way more than you really wanna pay.
