I got a 14 from the same ebay lot as your 12, and it was fifteen passes on a coticule away from shave-ready.

The 13s from Classic Shaving are a different generation Filly, and it seems like just about everyone who's bought one has found the initial honing to be something of a challenge.

Mine took a bit more work than that including a good amount of Norton lovin' and finishing up on the 0.5. I guess you lucked out.

Being no great shakes at honing I was probably just satisfied with less.

But there are some experienced guys here – jmsbcknr, Puffah, and X – who've encountered more serious challenges from the newer 13s.

If I get my hands on some extra cash, I'll have to get my hands on one of these puppies just to see what all the fuss is about.

Don't do it Ilija. They are OK, but at best finicky to hone. Get a TI or Dovo for the money.
