Default Information on Razors and advice.

Twenty something years ago when I first considered straight razor shaving I purchased a razor from a beauty supply store. The case and razor says Diamond Steel Solingen Made in Germany. 5/8 round nose. It has white plastic scales. I haven't been able to find information on this razor. I'm leaning toward it being made by Dovo based on searching this form. Does anyone have any info on this razor? If so would it be a good razor to have honed and used?

Also my parents gave me a razor made by Schrade Walden. It has heavy scales like a pocket knife. Is this a razor shaped object or a razor that can be honed and used?

Thank you for any information and/or advice you can offer.

Nope no 42 on the blade anywhere. Diamond Steel and Solingen Made in Germany is stamped on the tang. Those are the only markings on the blade and scales.

I have one that is made by a cutlery company in Germany, perhaps Imperial or International. I am on the road and cannot check it out but I think diamond steel was a term used by quite a few cutlers for some time and likely does not indicate brand.

I'm not very computer savvy, but I'll get with my wife and see what I can do about pictures.

the diamond steel is as said only a type of steel nothing to do with brand all you will know is a german made razor. as to the schrade its probably the 65 th anniv. which is probably a rebranded kriegar rso.
