    HAHAHA! THE SCALES ARE DONE!
The scales ended up being longer towards the bottom so the razor can " sit" on the scales. the wedge is square cut Australian wenge. Only peeve is that the blade is not as tight as i wanted so it might get a strap or locking mechanism eventually( peening the pin more won't work , its tight to the scales).

with regards the loose pivot, could you put a pair of washers inside the scales, loose pivots make for difficult stropping in my experience. its also nice if the scales stay put when you are shaving too.

on the note of the angle/spine/length.
From the research i did a common ratio for razor is 4:1 , so for ever inch of blade, the spine should go up a quarter inch. Ideally for a 9/8" blade you need a spine of 3/8". currently it's 3/16" (fine for a 6/8).
on another note of people saying it rusts, any blade will rust if you don't take care of it and leave it in a wet environment.

i did fix the loose scales issue the pin mushroomed incorrectly and required more peening
i did a mock shave and the the big scales don't impede my motions
