Thread: Mastro Livi new Abalone Damascus 8/8

This is Mastro Livi's latest piece, an 8/8 Blue Tonge, abalone handle with matching abalone Tang.

Very nice, the picture is a bit small though to see clearly.

Wow those scales are wild. I agree the picture needs to be a little bigger, is the blade damascus?

Edit: you can't even tell the tang is covered in abalone from this picture.

That's because only a small part of the tang is covered.

I received that picture as well from the Maestro yesterday. I have asked to have the abalone cover the whole tang including the monkey tail. I have never seen one like this. It is pretty cool though.

It looks to me like it covers the tang which is called the monkeytail, not the tang called by some the shank.

yes, the blade is a blue tonge damascus. This is a bigger picture of it, sorry about the small one, it did not do justice to this beauty....
