    Default Maude 1820 - 1830

I came by this the other day. Anyone have any information on Maude? The blade is 6/8 with a 1/4" spine. A heavy blade for its size. The sovereign mark dates it to 1820 - 1830 but that's all I have.

Nice looking stubby, lots of potential there I think.

Yes, 1820-1830. (Becuase it's definitely not the next George 1910-1936, though some razors do bear his crown).

Otherwise -- and I've dug extensively on this one -- all I can tell you is it probably wasn't Sheffield. It was an uncommon surname there, and no one of the name was ever in the apprentice registers.

Most likely it was a London firm. Beyond that, I got nothing.

That would explain the rust! I'm sure time travel is hard on steel. Tachyons are surely responsible for all sorts of oxidation. Or something.
