A couple days ago a razor came up in my rotation that I do not look forward to using. It is an old Robeson "rattler" stlye that I have struggled with honing and shaving. I had recently rehoned it. This time the shave is better than average and I find my feelings changed about this particular razor.

I find that the least favorite status seems to revolve around the quality of shave with little other consideration. Does anyone else experience this? Perhaps this is a sign of having too many razors...

I once asked a friend what razor he liked best. What was his favorite razor. now I ask him because he is a very noted straight razor person. His answer rings true to me. His answer is I HAVE MANY FAVORITE RAZORS. I have went from one stile of razor to the other and as you have stated my favorite depends on the shave I get with it at the time. At life grand.

Probably one of the many that I haven't got around to honing. I'm still in the process of learning to hone well and it is still a hit or miss thing. Possibly due to different steels and temperament of the razors.

I have many favored razors, some because I didn't give up on ones beyond my skills at the time. But the original Double Arrows would come very close to least favored!

I try to sell the ones I don't like. I fight with some. Struggle with others but in the end I win and enjoy the shave or lose and sell the razor.

I have a Morris wedge about 4/8 which is good for nothing but cleaning up the stray whisker.

I have a Japanese razor that is called a Shooting Star that was suppose to be a good razor. Maybe in someone else's hands. I haven't gotten it to shave well yet. I'd sell it but haven't the foggiest how I would advertise that and be honest.

Sell it on ebay and don't claim it is honed or shave ready. Just state what it is and describe it without delving into its shaving qualities. It sounds exotic enough that some collector should want it.

Yep. That's how I feel about that. I'd sooner give it away, but still couldn't do that. I don't feel it would serve to promote SR shaving if I behaved in that manner.
